General Audition Information

 

The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra (GGFSO) is a community orchestra based in Grand Forks, North Dakota that began performing in 1908.  GGFSO is only one in a handful of American orchestras older than 100 years.  The Symphony features local and regional musicians in performances of classical and modern symphony music.

The mission of the GGFSO puts excellence on stage to improve lives in Grand Forks and the surrounding region.  The intention of the Symphony is to excite, educate, and inspire audiences with the highest quality performances of the most beautiful music.

 

Compensation is based on a per-service rate.  Limited assistance with driving costs is available to musicians from outside the immediate area, board is not provided. 

All candidates must be US citizens, or be otherwise eligible for employment in the United States.

AUDITIONS

 

Live auditions will be held the afternoon of September 16, 2023 at the Hughes Fine Arts Center on the campus of the University of North Dakota. All applicants are required to register and submit a resume. Live auditions are preferred, but video recorded auditions will also be accepted. All applicants are required to submit a resume. Repertoire

Unless a specific solo is stated in the appropriate repertoire list, each candidate should prepare a two-minute solo demonstrating lyrical and technical abilities, in addition to the excerpts.
