CONCERT 1

WHAT: Masters Of Symphonic Traditions Concert

The GGFSO season opener will feature guest artist Jay Hershberger on piano playing Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58 from composer Ludwig van Beethoven. There is also music from Carl Maria von Weber named Overture to Oberon, J.306 and Anton Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88, to round out this exceptional line up of classical music.

CONCERT 2

WHAT: A Night at the Movies Concert

The GGFSO December concert is all about the Movies! The orchestra will present a wide selection of classical music from popular movies like 007, Dances With Wolves, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Greatest Showman, and more! Bring the family for this fun, energetic, selection of classical music. There will also be a piece featuring the Young Artist Concerto Competition winner.

CONCERT 3

WHEN: Sunday, February 25 @ 2:30 PM

WHERE: Historic Grand Forks Masonic Center

WHAT: The Symphony's Own Concert

The GGFSO dedicates their March concert to the excellence found in Grand Forks! The concert will begin with Bach’s Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067 featuring Dr. Bost-Sandberg on Flute. It will continue featuring Dr. Driscoll on Trumpet with Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E flat major, Hob. Vlle:1. After intermission will be all about Mozart featuring his  Overture to “The Marriage of Figaro” K. 492 and Sinfonia Concetante in Eb Major K. 297b for Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon, and Orchestra. Mr. McKenzie, Ms. Harlow, Dr. Wittgraf and Mr. York will be featured as a part of the second half of this traditional concert.

CONCERT 4

WHEN: Sunday, May 5 @ 2:30 PM

WHERE: Historic Grand Forks Masonic Center

WHAT: Generation's of Inspiration Concert

​

Starting out our last concert of the season is Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K. 551 “Jupiter.” Next up with our guest artist Viktor Uzur, cello will be Variations on a Rococo Theme, Op. 33, for Cello and Orchestra by Tchaikovsky. Lastly is the Spanish Caprice by N. Rimsky-Korsakov. This festive concert will send you off with a tune in your ear and smile on your face!
