Spooky Nights (Nov '07)

Grand Forks Symphony Conductor, James Hannon spoke to the Grand Forks South Forks Lions about the upcoming Symphony Season.

The " Spooky Nights" concert was held on November 3rd and 4th. Several wore their Halloween Costumes.

"Make-Me-a-Maestro" contest winner WDAZ personality Terry Dullum conducted the orchestra, but here thinks it is time to try something else.

Guest Conduct Dullum took seat while the orchestra played "Stars and Stripes" without him.
       

Getting hungry from his efforts, Dullum looked at his cell phone getting an idea to call for a pizza.

Guest Conductor Dullum lead the orchestra in a rousing rendition of "Stars and Stripes".

Dullum conducted the orchestra with gusto.

Guest Conductor Dullum acknowledged the efforts of the orchestra to his conducting.
       

Flutist Kayla Johnson, the winner of the Young Artist Competition Winner played with the orchestra

Nicholas Hagen, played Trombone as a guest with the orchestra.

The audience raved over the performance of Conductor James Hannon in conducting "Symphonie Fantastique, Op.14"..

The "Tin Man" won the best costume prize at the concert.

Long time Symphony supporters John Foster and Tom Abar enjoyed the performance.

Down a River of Time (Sept '07)
GGFSO with guest Andrea Gullickson


Paul Boese, orchestra member and Youth Programs Administrator explained the "Make Me a Maestro" contest which is being conducted as a fund raiser for the symphony. You can cast a vote for either Ginny Bollman, Terry Dullum, or Ryan Bakken by getting a ballot at Hugo's and can be printed out by clicking on the symphony website. One vote is counted for each dollar contributed to the Symphony.

"Make Me a Maestro" candidates Ginny Bollman, Terry Dullum are introduced by Conductor James Hannon who gave them a chance to give a campaign speech.

Guest Oboist Andrea Gullickson performed with the orchestra for "Down a River of Time" Gullickson is a Walhalla, N.D. native who played with the Grand Forks Symphony from 1975 to 1979. She now is Professor of music and chair of the Department of Music at Butler University in Indianapolis.
